NHL team asks brand ambassadors to pay for special access

My favorite hockey team, the Nashville Predators, is soliciting social media talkers with an offer.  They pay $350 for luxury suite tickets to a game, get special access to players and staff and then netcast their experience on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc.  Details: Social Media Suite Night in Smashville.

Free marketing insight from Google

Dove into thinkwithgoogle.com today and found a treasure box of data that you and I can use for marketing insight.  For example:

When you pause your PPC search ads, you'll lose 89% of your traffic because it doesn't get replaced by traffic generated by organic search results. The take-away for me is that AdWords does not cannibalize your organic search.  It's separate and equally vital for new customer acquisition.

Today a friend seemed acted surprised that Google+ is still around.  The hype may not have lead to instant Facebook-type relevancy, but with with 40 million users in just 4 months, Google+ is waiting in the tall grass to pounce on Facebook.  In its latest move, Google+ Pages are now open to businesses.
